Bornstedt Royal Estate

In 1874, Krongut Bornstedt, the royal estate, was constructed as part of the Sanssouci ensemble of castles and gardens. In the summer of 2002, the royal estate was reopened as a tourist attraction. In the former manor house, which also houses a registry office, you can get an insight into royal life in the middle of the 19th century. In the outbuildings and barns that now have a varied use, the visitor is offered plenty of facilities from a restaurant to a farm shop, a glassworks, a flower shop and to a baker’s. There is a wine bar in the former barn by the shore of the Bornstedter See (a lake). Several events take place in the extensive market square every week, which round off a visit to the Bornstedt Royal Estate.
