Einstein Tower on Telegrafenberg Hill

Between 1876 and 1924 a range of scientific organisations established several institutes and observatories on Potsdam´s Telegrafenberg Hill, among them the expressionist Einstein Tower, the most famous building of the architect Erich Mendelsohn. Still today, the Einstein Tower, which houses the astrophysical observatory, largely serves for observation of magnetic fields, particularly in connection with solar spots. The Tower is open to visitors between October and March for tours and excursions organised by the URANIA. Tours inside the tower are unavailable between April and September. Guided tours through the science park Albert Einstein between April and September are given by request.
