Norman Tower on Ruinenberg

Situated on a hill and overlooked from the north side of Sanssouci Palace, the Ruinenberg Hill served King Frederick II and later also King Frederick William IV in a number of ways. A water basin on top of the hill was initially conceived to feed the fountains of Sanssouci. Also antique-style ruins and a look-out tower were planned to transform the hill into a spectacular eye catcher or point de vue - not just for the Prussian regents.
