Lindencafé Potsdam
The traditional Babelsberg restaurant in the Viennese coffeehouse style offers exquisite coffee specialities, cake creations and other selected à la carte dishes from breakfast to dinner.
The residential and commercial building Rudolf-Breitscheid-Str., formerly Lindenstraße, No. 47/48, was built in 1914 by Paul Quandt, who himself had a pastry shop on the ground floor with a confectioner's shop, at that time still written with "C", and planned a café, which he also managed himself for many years as a family business. His daughter, who later owned the house, lived on the 1st floor above the Lindencafé until 2001.
A review of the time of the 20's and 30's is allowed here. At that time the waitresses wore a black dress with a dazzling white apron and the white bonnet. Also of importance: the staff had to know all the gentlemen who worked in the Quandt confectionery by name and title.
