Mediterranean plants, well-considered visual relationships and imposing palace buildings - Sanssouci Park reflects the facets of exquisite craftsmanship.
Today, more than 60 specialized gardeners work in Sanssouci Park to maintain the well-considered synthesis of the arts of garden art, kitchen gardens and architecture. The gardeners at Sanssouci have been much more than craftsmen since the time of Frederick the Great. They expanded their knowledge on journeys through Europe and brought many ideas back to Sanssouci. Which models (sculptures?) come together in the Marly Garden? Why are fruits so beautiful to look at? What does silk production and Potsdam´s Mulberry Avenue have in common? Following the trail of craftsmanship, we will take you through the Marly Garden, pass the vineyard terraces of Sanssouci palace to get to the Orangery Palace.
