Whether Polish specialities, Dutch customs or Bohemian handicrafts – Potsdam reflects on its history, which is shaped by the city's immigrants, during the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle.

Old Town Christmas Market „Blauer Lichterglanz“ – dates tba

The central Christmas Market on the places Luisen- and Bassinplatz offers a variety of stalls with Christmas food and drinks as well as traditional gifts. With its fairytale stage and a ferris wheel it offers great fun for families. The many shops, boutiques, galleries, cafés and restaurants in the midst of the colorful Christmas bustle also invite you to stroll through the historic Potsdam city center.

Bohemian Christmas Market in Babelsberg – dates tba

The Bohemian Christmas Market traditionally takes place today where Bohemian weavers once settled. Craftsmen, traders, artists and innkeepers present Bohemian traditions on next to the Fridrich Chruch the place Weberplatz. The Bohemian crystal fairy and Santa Claus also mingle with the visitors.

Polish Christmas Market on the Kutschstallhof – dates tba

The Polish Christmas Market celebrates Polish traditions with regional artists and craftsmen that offer woodcarvings, textile patchworks, silver and ambor jewlery, tablecloths, wall hangings, ceramcis, self-made table and wall clocks, stone and salt art and leather goods. Traditional foods are served such as “pierogi”, „barszcz” and „bigos". Events include Polish choir and classical music performances.

Dutch Christmas Market in the Dutch Quarter – dates tba

On the Dutch Christmas Market in the historical Dutch Quarter there are vendors selling Dutch specialities and musicians playing Dutch Christmas music. The celebrations include theatre performances for children on a small fairytale stage. The Dutch Santa Clause "Sinterklaas", dressed in the traditional Dutch bishop garment, enters Potsdam traditonially by ship and rides through the city on horseback.

Christmas Market on the Belvedere Pfingstberg – dates tba

The romantic Christmas Market in the festively illuminated Belvedere attracts visitors with stalls of all sorts of handicrafts and delicacies around the water basin inside the castle. In addition visitors can expect a selection of spirits and regional delicacies outside the castle in the romantic gardens. For the little visitors The Moorish Cabinet is transformed into a fairytale room and Santa Claus will be dropping by again this year to pose for souvenir photos and hand out sweets.

Russian Christmas Market in the Colony Alexandrowka – dates tba

You can feel comfort and contemplation when you enter the Advent garden in the Russian Colony Alexandrowka. Regional handicrafts are on offer at the market stalls, with Russian music playing. Away from the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle, a warming campfire invites you to enjoy delicious mulled apple wine or specialities like tea from the samovar. Little visitors can listen to Russian fairytales and stories.
