Museum Alexandrowka

Museum Alexandrovka, photo: Zippel

The Russian colony Alexandrovka was established by King Frederick Wilhelm III in memory of his friend, the Russian Czar Alexander I, in 1826. Peter Joseph Lenné planned the gardens with the aim to provide the Russian choir an inspiring atmosphere for music and leisure. Today, the entire area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
In one of the historical houses a museum is established. The permanent exhibition explains the history of the colony. The museum shop offers souvenirs and literature. A café is situated in the garden of the museum.
