Villa Schoeningen houses contemporary art. Situated at Glienicke Bridge, once one of the most famous check points between the East and West Berlin, the villa is a unique historical building at a unique historical spot.
The Villa Schoeningen was built in the style of Italian villas by Ludwig Persius. It shows temporary exhibitions of top-class contemporary art. With the internationally appreciated exhibitions the villa is firmly established in Berlin´s and Brandenburg´s art scenes.
The topics of Germany´s division and Cold War are revisited and presented in associative ways in the exhibitions. Also the park of Villa Schöningen is periodically used to exhibit sculptures concerned with the spirit of the spot.
The café at the villa invites to stay and to enjoy.
